Boots, boots, and more boots!

I had my craft show this past Sunday, and it went great! I love getting out there and doing busy shows. Not just for making sales, but getting a chance to talk with the people out there, buyers and other sellers. It's inspiring to see what other artists are making, and getting feedback on what people like.

So, my boots and lilies were a hit! I've decided to focus on making lots and lots of boots over the next few months. Hopefully so I can have a wide variety of sizes and styles for people to choose from at my next show. I've been on the hunt for cowboy boots, and have already accumulated a little collection ready to be upcycled (picture above).

And the leather lilies...lots more of those to come too! I've been making these lilies for quite sometime now, but just recently they have been becoming noticed. Not sure why, maybe better photos, and displaying them so they stand out at shows? I never gave up hope on my happy lilies =).

In the near future you will now be seeing a variety of colors with my happy lilies, some glittered, giant ones, and minis too! Exciting stuff!!!

Upcycled embellished cowboy boots

So, I've been hooked on making these upcycled embellished cowboy boots. There so much fun to make. I want to go to thrift stores all the time now and search for old boots ( an excuse to go to the thrift store is always a good thing!). I just finished these new white lily boots. A custom order for a friend. Check 'em out!

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

Lately I've been making cookies on a regular basis. It is the season for pumpkin, and these pumpkin snickerdoodles posted by recipe girl look fantastic! I think I will try to make these soon.

Openeing new doors

I've been experimenting with "lacing'" leather. I am soooo in love with the results! It's basically just like hand sewing . With a strong waxed thread, and leather of course! I tried it out on a pair of my upcycled embellished cowboy boots (peacock feather boots in picture, will be posted in my etsy shop soon). And on a mini leather plushy (more on those later, also pictured).

I see this opening new doors for ideas of what I can make. Until now everything that I assembled was by rivets. I still LOVE rivets, the shiny metal look. This just gives me a little more flexibility.

As for my new leather plushy?!!! I made one for my daughter just for fun. And I was really excited how it turned out! Now I'm thinking over time to make a collection of little characters. This one is of a little girl helping in the garden. Made with lightly tooled leather on the front. Suede on the back. Painted with water based leather paints, stuffed, and sewn together into a plushy! It might be a while before I post any of these in my shop. I may even have a separate shop open just for these guys. Not to sure yet. Just thought I'd show some new fun ideas I've been messing with!

Thanks for reading!
